Life happens in more dimensions than we realize. The bright light of out 3 dimensions obscures the rest of our existance. When we die, we do so in only the 3 perceived dimensions. We go on in other dimensions where we have no personal identity. Evolution, in particular, dovetails nicely with how I envision the purpose of extra-dimensional human existence. That is to say that the reason for temporal existence is so that the extra dimensional being can change and grow. I can conjecture that the 3 spatial dimensions are necessary for novelty and change, whereas existence apart from those dimensions is static and unchanging.
