Consciousness as a Physical Entity

I think consciousness is a physical entity, because there are so many ways things occurring in the physical world can impact consciousness. (not to mention how consciousness impacts the physical world in that experiment).   For instance when I broke my wrist, I took percodan.  It changed my consciousness.  I enjoyed chit chat and wanted to engage in same.  I felt elated about just being alive.  I find that alcohol and THC have a similar effect on my consciousness.  How can something non-physical be affected by the physical?   Why are you convinced that enjoying something requires some undefined emotional component?  Way back in my Commodore 64 days, I remember my hair just about standing on end the first time my computer spoke to me.  I expect the same thing to happen some day, when my computer falls in love with me.
